It’s no secret thatMan of Steel killed the box this weekend world wide, and it’s an even bigger non-secret that DC Comics and Warner Bros. are desperately trying to keep up with Disney and Marvel Studios. Ergo, DC Comics and Warner Bros. are attempting to fast track the sequel to Superman for a 2014 release.
Justice League’s fate has been dependent on the success of Man of Steel, and now that it has had a successful release Warner Bros. and DC Comics are scrambling to release the sequel by 2014 to introduce at least one other major character for the 2015 release of Justice League.
Dan Fellman, Domestic Distribution President stated:

Now the world is waiting to see if a big budget film with two franchises resting on its shoulders can actually pull it off in less than a year. We hope they can because we want Justice League to happen in the worst way.

WANTED 2 WRITER WEIGHS IN THE SEQUEL
“Wanted co-writer Derek Haas was recently interviewed and spoke about the upcoming sequel to Timur Bekmambetov’s crime thriller Wanted 2.
The writer and his partner Michael Brandt lost interest, but were asked to come back to deliver a second draft after Universal hired multiple writers to tackle the script.
Here is what he had to say about the departure from the studio and how they were persuaded to come back in 2011.
After the first movie came out, we were supposed to write the sequel. For various reasons, we didn’t connect with what Universal wanted to do creatively. A little bit of what Timur Bekmambetov wanted to do. So we just sort of bowed out gracefully. We got that call that you always love as a screenwriter. ‘Can you guys please come back?’ We loved the world. That experience was great. We said, ‘Well here’s what we want to do with the sequel.’ And they said, ‘Okay.
He goes on to talk about the possible storyline for the upcoming sequel.
After four years, from a creative standpoint, it’s almost better, because we can pick up the story four years later. It’s ‘Where is Wesley four years after the events of the first movie?’  Angelina Jolie gets shot in the head and everyone’s like, ‘Oh, are you going to bring back Fox?’ I said, ‘Did you see the bullet go into her head?’ And they say, ‘Oh, she can take one of those milk baths!’ We never wanted to do that movie. The only thing I can tell you is that Wesley (James McAvoy) is now, four years later, recruiting a young woman who is in his situation in the first movie. She’s got a sh**ty life. He’s sort of in the Fox role. This new girl is brought into the world.

PROJECT X: This Shit Is Happening Again!

Project X Still #1

Project X Still #2       Project X Still #3

Project X has been approved by Warner Bros for a sequel! WBs has recently hired a writer to draft out a treatment (synopsis) of what the sequel’s storyline will be about. If the treatment is good, then the sequel is on like Donkey Kong!

The 80’s classic TOP GUN starring Tom Cruise, has been approved for a sequel by Paramount studios. Jerry Brukheimer Productions and Skydance Production will co-produce the film, the original 1986 film grossed $345 million in the box office.

Since Hollywood refuses to produce barely any original material, I say why the hell not. I can’t be any worse than Spider Man 3, right?
